I also looked through the “Goofs” section for the film on IMDB and added the Nylon Rope and a few of the Anachronisms listed. I started compiling my list with goofs I had personally noticed, a few of which were actually validated by the DVD commentary when I listened to it. It isn’t my intention to be critical, but merely to share observations and information that fans may be interested in.
I think the flower they letting us is in on Mr Bennett’s joke, he is a respectable man and he has already visited Mr Bingley.Which brings me to my curiosity. Bennett could afford them…BUT it is purple…“Purple orchids symbolize royalty and admiration, and are traditionally given as a sign of respect.”In the first scene with the orchid, his wife is saying if he does not pay his respects to the new gentleman in town they cannot meet him.
